The Opening Cook is responsible for preparing the kitchen for daily operations, ensuring all food stations are set up, stocked, and ready for service. This role requires strong time management, attention to detail, and a commitment to Golden Corral’s food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive early to open the kitchen and prepare stations for breakfast and lunch service.
  • Complete daily opening tasks: turn on equipment, check temperatures, and stock food prep areas.
  • Prepare menu items according to Golden Corral recipes and portion standards.
  • Cook and hold food items safely to meet freshness and quality requirements.
  • Ensure buffet stations are stocked and appealing before guest arrival.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and equipment.
  • Communicate any shortages, issues, or maintenance needs to management.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications:

  • Prior line cook or prep experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
Golden Corral Breakfast Cook Job Description

Position Summary:
The Breakfast Cook prepares and presents all breakfast menu items, including grill, buffet, and made-to-order items, ensuring consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare breakfast items such as eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, and other hot foods.
  • Operate grill, flat-top, and other cooking equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Cook and replenish buffet items to keep them fresh and stocked during breakfast hours.
  • Monitor food quality, appearance, and portion control.
  • Communicate with servers and teammates to support smooth breakfast service.
  • Keep cooking area, utensils, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Follow Golden Corral’s food safety and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:

  • Breakfast or short-order cooking experience preferred, but training available.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak morning hours.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
Compensation: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
